Alan was one of the most dynamic individuals I have ever had the honor of knowing and working for. I was touched when he approached me at Surfaces after hearing that one of my little dogs had to be put down after a spinal injury. I know he was a dog lover with a big heart.
Alan will be missed by all who knew him.

Alan truly cared about all his employees. You don’t see that much anymore these days. Every time you passed him in the hallway he would greet you by name and a big smile. He loved to make us all laugh whether he was dressing up for Halloween or cracking a joke. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

I will always remember that Alan was never too busy to give you a smile and say hello. Didn’t matter who you were, or how many things he had going on at the time. He valued and cared for his employees, and he never forgot that, and never let us forget it either. He will be greatly missed! My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My fond memories will be of the humorous side of Alan. The company Halloween parties have to be on the top of the list. There was also a day when Alan came in the office looking pretty good in a suit and tie. I of course in my greeting when he entered the building commented on how nice he looked and how I enjoyed seeing a man in a suit. He replied in a most serious tone of voice “I’m going on a job interview.” Needless to say I had to put my phone on DND since I was laughing uncontrollably.
It’s not often you can work for a company who has it’s employees needs on the top of their list but Alan and Howard have always had our best interest in the forefront of the decisions they made for the company. That is seen by all and truly appreciated. I too can say when I’m asked where do you work can say without a doubt for one of the best companies out there. It truly is like a big family. I loved and respected Alans professionalism, his directness but most of all his sincerity.
I’ve missed Alan since he stopped coming in on a regular basis and I feel his loss tremendously. My prayers go out to the Greenberg family that God will give you the peace that passes all understanding.
Love Phyllis

I did not know Alan very well personally. My connection to Alan is through the beautiful friendship he shared with my parents and his role as the great leader of the company my husband is so proud to be a part of. From these connections, one may not question why I would refer to him as “Mr. Greenberg”. The one thing I will always remember is that each time I addressed him politely as Mr. Greenberg, he would swiftly remind me to call him Alan. To me, this says so much about the kind of person he was. Real, genuine, and present. I have the utmost respect for the business man he was and for the wonderful sense of humor he shared with my parents on and off the golf course. I too will always remember his warm smile.

I will truly miss Alan. I will always remember how he refer me to one of his personal doctor’s for treatment. Alan has never made me feel not appreciated, even when I would decline a potential member into the co-op. He allowed me to do my job. His style of management allow me to be the best I could be. I do not feel like an ex-employee because my relationship has never changed with Alan. He told me I was always welcome at CCA. CCA is the only company in my 25 years of credit experience that I still hold near and dear to my heart. My prayers will continue to be with Sharon, Tod, Stephanie, Emma, Abbey, Darcy, Dan and Natalie. God bless. Love CJ

I HAVEN’T KNOWN ALAN BUT FOR JUST A FEW YEARS. I ENJOYED CHATTING WITH HIM AT OUR FLOORING AMERICA CONVENTIONS. WE WOULD ALWAYS EXCHANGE JOKES WITH ONE ANOTHER EVEN ON THE INTERNET. I LOOKED FORWARD TO OUR MEETINGS TWICE A YEAR. HE WAS A FINE GENTLEMAN IN THE TRUEST FASHION. I NEVER HEARD A NEGATIVE WORD FROM HIM….ALWAYS POSITIVE.
